The Evolution of “Cyclone”
Back in April 2009 when I first wrote the short film “Cyclone”, I had no plans for anything other than a simple short film that could be shot in a weekend and when it was done I was going to put it online for all to see. I didn’t have plans to market it, sell it, or develop it further. Quite simply, I wanted to tell a story, get it over and done with, and move on. Several weeks ago, when asked what I’m going to do with “Cyclone”, my response was simply I’ve done all that I’m going to do with “Cyclone”. It can be watched for free, there are behind-the-scene commentaries on the site, and there is a shirt or two you can buy if you’re interested. That’s it. Done. Moving on.
Cyclone Earns “Best Cinematography” Honors
Cyclone recently earned Best Cinematography honors at the 2011 Full Moon Horror Film Festival, held in Nashville, TN on May 14, 2011. While “Cyclone” isn’t a horror film and the festival was horror themed, it was a true honor for Cyclone to be recognized for its cinematography and production value.
This was Cyclone’s first festival and it was great to attend and meet with other filmmakers and new fans. Got some great and exciting news pertaining to the next stage of Cyclone.

“Cyclone” Is Official Selection of Full Moon Horror Film Festival
Cyclone has been named an official selection of the 2011 Full Moon Horror Film Festival. This is the first annual Full Moon Horror Film Festival, and is part of the Lone Wolf Horror & Tattoo Convention. It’s held every May in Nashville, Tennessee. Ben and Stacey Dixon do a great job of putting on this convention every year. I’m sure the Festival will go on to become a great independent horror film fest.

I’m excited to have “Cyclone” screen in the festival competition. Can’t wait to not only see the reactions of people as they’re watching it, but to discover other films as well.
“Cyclone” To Screen At Cinema Wasteland Expo
I received word a few days ago that “Cyclone” will receive it’s first, offline, premiere screening at the 10th anniversary Cinema Wasteland Movie & Memorabilia Expo on Friday, October 1, 2010. Cinema Wasteland’s Expo opens on Friday night with their Short Film block of short films. According the Ken at Cinema Wasteland, their Friday Night Block is one of the most popular features of the expo.
